Benedict

The Woman

Katherine

In a cloudy wednesday (as usual), Benedict Cumberbatch, the so named talented and charming British actor, is at the studio, already dressed, for the last scenes, in North of England, for the new and already well received "Week Strenphs" movie. He has passion to his professional career and his work and this film is no exception. It is an enthrilling and exciting story, where two couples' lives cross each other, it happens during the middle of XX century where they live miles away from each and both have problems, from different kinds. They meet when right after the first threats of an advanced war, years after a tremendous and deathful first world war, comes. And from that moment they have to supply on each other and later on they become friends and go through some serious situations.
Benedict's, character is one the couples' men, Tim Simson, a banker, who, obiously because of the war, has to become some kind of a soldier, to survive.
Benedict goes out from his dressing-room and he is almost ready to work, but before he has to go to
make-up trailer. (he goes in, looks onubtruvisely to the floor, to the walls, the ceiling and then to the make-up woman and Katherine, the actress who plays his wife in the movie)
     - Your seat doesn't bite! - says the woman nicely.
     - Are you ready for our last scene? - asks Katherine seductively
     - She (the woman) has to put the make-up first. - he responds
     - And in my hands you'll be just perfect. - says the woman.
     - Can you go back to your job? - the actress asks mad
     - I'm doing my job, and being nice to a person is not even close to a crime. - says the woman politely and extremely calm
     - Excuse me? - asks the actress shocked while she stands up slowly
     - Ladies, calm do... -he stands up too and he tries to calm down (specially) Katherine
     - No, Benedict, I won't calm down. She's being extremely unprofessional - replies the actress.
     - I am calm. - the other young lady informs him
     - Please, there's no reason not to be friends.
     - You know what? I won't put up with children, and I love children, I really do, but annoying kids are, just... annoying. - She goes out
     - It worked the last time. - he says to himself
     - Wh... What? Come back here! She can't treat me like that.
     - Leave her.
     - You're defending her. - Katherine accuses him
     - No, no, nooo, I'm not. - he says defending himself
     - I'm going to talk to John. - she informs him
Benedict gives a ok face, seats down again and he takes his mobile off the pocket, waiting for someone to come to put make-up on him.
John Wesley is the director and, in this film he's also the executive producer, nice man, intelligent and very professional. He met Benedict years ago when both of them were working in seperated jobs, long story, which I guess I'm about to resume. Back in 2008, John directed a short film about a real life story of the tough life of a British soldier who came back from war. And Benedict went to the audition. He didn't get the part but John really liked him. And they bonded from that moment until now.
The actress starts to go in John's direction but she sees that woman talking to him so she suddenly stops to analyse the conversation - They know each other? - asks the actress
Benedict looks back to the actress, then to the woman and John and he murmurs:
    - Apparently, yes.
    - I'm going to ask around here about that woman - she says with no reply from Benedict
John
The woman says to John:
   - Thank you for the oportunity, John. - she says
   - You're welcome, but, where am I going to find someone else, we still have to shoot some...
   - Don't worry. I've already texted someone I trust on make-up. She's on her way.
   - Ok then. - he says
   - I have to go now. One of these days you and Elle have to come to my house, alright?
   - Alright. Ooh, I almost forgot, we, me and Elle, are going to arrange a small reunion, and, of course, you are invited!
   - You know how I feel about "reunions", but, because it's yours, I accept.
   - Great. My house, saturday, around 9:30pm!
   - Ok. See you soon. And you have a great piece back there. - she comments pointing with her eyes to the trailer.
   - Yeah, I know, believe me, I know. So, see you Saturday. Bye
   - Bye. - she walks away, turn on music on her mobile and goes in the parking direction
Benedict goes to John to inform him about that small situation.
   - John, can I talk to you for a second?
   - Yeah. What's up?
   - It happened seconds ago, a bit of a situation.
   - I already imagined that.
   - Because of that woman came talk to you.
   - She really didn't say anything, she didn't need to. Half of the problem is solved.
   - Alright, then I'll leave directing issues to you. - gives a look releaf to John
While Benedict is turning around to go back to his work he hears John's voice calling him:
   - Hey Ben! - he calls (and he calls him Ben because is more eficient, in times of hurry).
   - Yes? - he turns around again to know what John wants
   - You're also invited to my little reunion. Saturday, 9:30pm. Show up, it will be nice.
   - Thank you for the invitation, I'll be there.
   - And about the...
The new make-up female artist goes to John, and interropes him.
   - Excuse me - she aproaches - you're Mr. Wesley, right?
   - Yes, and you are... Oh must be here to put the make-up on my lovely actors.
   - Yes, my name is Amelia, and, Mr. Cumberbatch I enjoy very much your work.
   - Thank you! - They shake hands.
And John says:
   - You must be really good!
   - I wouldn't say that.
   - Sorry, I'm going back to the trailer. - Benedict says
   - Ok, I'm just going to talk a bit with Amelia, and she will be right there.
   - Alright.
Benedict goes back to the trailer.
   - She recommended you. You must be that good.
   - I'll do my best.
   - I have to explain to you a bit of the story and the caracters...
